Welcome to our old family home
In the early 20's Maclean Kay decided not to go back to Scotland after he had laid his eyes on what is now known as Satemwa Tea Estate. The Estate and the House is still run by his family and the fourth generation of little Kay's
regularly roam around the garden and raid the kitchen of newly baked biscuits. We hope you will find a home away from home staying here with us.
The house was built in the mid 30's and have five spacious room. Our ambition is to give all our guests a unique and personal experience and an insight to the special life on a Tea Estate in Africa.
Alive with History
A corner of Africa where time stands still.
Huntingdon, and indeed Satemwa Estate, evokes a romantic nostalgia for Malawi's past. By African standards, 100 years of history is seldom found. Every tea field, tree and building on this estate shares a tale and you are invited to enjoy a glimpse of a bygone era in this rapidly changing continent.
