Mother's Room

A wonderful light, airy room with high ceilings and a gentle ambiance. The original clay tiles have been retained while both the bedroom and the en suite bathroom have fire places, wonderful to create a romantic atmosphere on chilly evenings. This room was Chip Cathcart Kay's mother's room and he still shares some wonderful stories about how this area of the house was strictly "off-limits" for the children. An enormous King Size bed with mosquito net and a small seating area make this the idea room for couples.

Planters' Suite

An unusual pair of rooms originally used to host visitors to the estate. During refurbishment of the house in 2009, the two bedrooms were joined with large glass paneled wooden doors to offer an ideal area for 2 additional single beds or a lounge area. Families wishing to share a room can comfortably sleep 4 in this welcoming room, a firm favorite with regular visitors - Planters' Suite also boasts a small private patio overlooking the gardens and a full en suite bathroom.

The Chapel

A vast area with 6 metre high ceilings and specially made double wooden doors - The Chapel is extremely popular with honeymooners and couples looking for a truly unique accommodation option. The bed was specially made to fill the area and can best be described as super king size! Private dining on the patio offers guests staying in this room another memorable Huntingdon experience.

Father's Room

Distinctly masculine with a lovely wrap-around patio or "khonde", Father's Room is another firm favourite with returning guests. The original room of Maclean Kay and the only room in the old days that had an ensuite bathroom. Enjoy an early cup of Satemwa tea on your private patio while watching the gardens come to life with birds and beautiful light. Also a the perfect khonde to enjoy dinner on the night when the moon is full.

The Nursery

This used to be the room for Chip and his sister Juliet when they were children. The warm colours and wonderful light from the bay windows at one end of this room create a fun, spacious atmosphere. The room has two twin beds and we can also put in one more single bed to sleep three people.

Double doors open from the room to a private patio area overlooking the gardens while the en suite bathroom is vast and offers a full shower, free standing bath tub and double hand basins. Set at the far end of the house, the room offers peace and quiet, but then so does the entire property!
